One of the coolest part about last summer’s Windows 10 Anniversary Update was that it made it easier than ever to cast Android to your Windows 10 PC.
Unfortunately, many Android users have no idea they can do this with just a few clicks. Today, we’re explaining how to easily cast your Android screen onto your Windows 10 PC with just a few easy steps.
Basically, all you need is a new native app called Connect. This app is a native Windows 10 app, which means it’s already on your computer if you’ve installed last summer’s update.
Here’s the step by step guide:
Step 1) On your Windows 10 PC, tap the Start menu button or press the Windows key, then type Connect. Wait for the Connect app to show up, then press enter or click on it to open it.
Step 2) Open the notifications center on your Android (just slide down from the top)
Step 3) Tap on the Cast screen icon. On Samsung, it’s called Smart View. You may need to scroll down twice on your notification shade to find the setting, but it will be there on all modern Androids.
At this point, your PC and Android device should connect automatically. However, you may need to tap on the name of your PC from the More settings menu on your Android. This will initiate the connection.
That’s it! Your Android should show up on your desktop in a new window. You can scroll through your Android and even play content from your Android device onto your PC. The only restriction is that you can’t play content that’s accessible through Private mode.
If you’re having trouble getting this process to work, let me know in the settings menu below and I’ll try to fix it.
