How to Trick Pokemon GO GPS Spoofing
Pokemon GO typically requires you to get out and about to catch the best Pokemon, but if you’re stuck at home or find yourself in a rural area with little around you to get excited about, you may want to consider using a GPS spoofing app to trick your phone into thinking you’re somewhere else in the world.
GPS spoofing apps can be used to send your trainer in Pokemon GO to anywhere in the world and you’ll be able to play the game as if you were in that location in real life.
Before we get started, you will need to root your device for these apps to work. For this, follow our step by step guide provided above. Our guide can help you to get routed with the click of a button.
Next let’s talk about how to get GPS spoofing working on Pokemon GO.
Rooted Method: Install Lucky Patcher & Fake GPS
The first step would involve installing an application called Lucky Patcher. With this you will be able to trick your device into thinking that the GPS spoofing app is part of your system and not a standalone application.
First, you will need to install lucky patcher from the Lucky Patcher website. This can be found here. Please note that the official Lucky Patcher app cannot be found within the app store. Make sure you have your ‘allow third party apps’ setting turned on in the settings menu so that it can be installed.
Next, you will need to install ‘Fake GPS.’ This application can be found from within the app store. The link for that is here.
Once you have installed both Lucky Patcher and Fake GPS, you will need to open Lucky Patcher. (This should be clear, but make sure you have Pokemon Go installed at this point too.)
Rooted Method: Using The Applications to Set Up GPS Spoofing in Pokemon Go
Within Lucky Patcher, tap the filters, then tap the system apps option and tap apply. Now look for Fake GPS, tap it and choose launch app.
Operation with Fake GPS is fairly straightforward. You can choose a location by searching for it, and then you can drop a pin on the map. Once you’ve done this, your device will be tricked into thinking that it’s location is exactly where the pin is placed.
Next you’ll need to change a few things about your location in the settings menu on your Android device. To do this, you should head back to the home launcher and look for the settings menu in the app drawer.
Once you have opened the settings menu, tap the location option. Under the location services, tap google Location History. Within this menu you’ll have the option to turn it off completely. Tap the button to switch it off.
Close down Pokemon Go and open it up again and you should now be in your new location. You’ll be able to update your location by walking, or alternatively you can use the Fake GPS app through Lucky Patcher to change your location manually again.
Alternative Methods
If you do not want to use the method listed above, or find that Fake GPS isn’t working as it’s expected, you could choose to use a different application or a different method entirely.
Below, we have listed a number of high rated Google Play GPS spoofer apps that could be used in place of Fake GPS in the guide above.
ByteRev Fake GPS
Location Cheater
Lockito
If you’re happy to stay in your current location but would like an option to move your character by tapping on the screen, PokemonGoAnywhere may be a useful tool. This tool is perfect for anybody with a disability that prevents them from walking long distances. With it, you can tap on the screen in Pokemon Go to move your character. You can find more about it here.
Thanks for taking the time to read. We hope we have managed to help you find a way to spoof your GPS location in Pokemon Go.
