We were really surprised with the Asus Zenfone 2 launch because despite the lower-than-flagship cost, this smartphone has nearly everything you could hope for in a flagship device. Firstly, the Asus Zenfone display is a large 5.5 inches. The display does not have 2K but it does have a 1080 x 1920 resolution which we think is more than suffice. The device also has a 13 megapixel camera that can shoot in 1080p. On the inside, a large 3,000mAH battery is powering the Zenfone 2, alongside 4GB of RAM on top of the Intel Atom Z3580 chipset. There is also a cheaper variant of the Asus Zenfone 2 that comes with 2GB of RAM and an Intel Atom Z3560 chipset. The Z3680 variant has a quad core 2.3GHz processor and a PowerVR G6430 GPU. In the storage department the Zenfone 2 comes with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage but a microSD card slot is available which can boost the storage by up to an additional 128GB.

The Zenfone 2 mostly uses the stock Android Marshmallow 6.0 operating system but there is a custom launcher that has been applied on top of the smartphone.
