The HTC One M8 was the flagship smartphone by HTC for 2014 and it took the original HTC One (M7) design and slightly adjusted it. HTC’s One smartphone design won plenty of awards for it’s spectacular appearance so it was great to see HTC reintroduce it on the HTC M8. Whilst the physical design of the M8 mostly stayed the same, a lot else changed. For starters, the HTC M8 came with improved hardware. The HTC One M8 has 2GB of RAM for example. The M8 also comes with a Snapdragon 801 chipset which includes a 2.3GHz quad core processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. If you feel the need to upgrade the included 16GB or 32GB internal memory, you can insert a microSD into the M8’s SD card slot for up to 128GB of extra space.
The M8 also included the strange UltraPixel camera layout – whilst HTC dropped this in 2015, the M8’s camera still provides some really great quality images. Perhaps the biggest change on the HTC One M8 was the tweaks made to the operating system. On top of upgrading to Android 4.4, HTC’s Sense 6.0 UI was released alongside the HTC One M8. The M8’s new Sense update basically included a number of improvements to the already established features, made improvements to the camera app and added some new additions to the settings menus. Everything about the HTC One M8 is spectacular but not every smartphone owner is a fan of the Sense UI. If you fall under the same boat as other Sense haters then you may want to consider rooting your HTC One M8 so that you can pick up a custom ROM or make adjustments to the user interface.
If you root your device you will also be given a finer control over plenty of other UI features and the overall performance of your smartphone can be monitored carefully. More interestingly, if you root the HTC One M8 you will be able to underclock the processor and cut out background apps to improve the battery life. Alternatively you can uninstall any bloatware that came with the HTC One M8 from factory default. There are plenty of other great reasons to root the HTC One M8 and if you use our One Click Root software explained above, it could never be easier.
