The HTC One on Sprint launched in 2015 as one of Sprint’s main Android flagship devices. Whilst Sprint may offer plenty of their own deals for the HTC One M9, the device is readily available on plenty of other mobile network carriers in North America. If you own the Sprint variant of the HTC One M9 you may be pleased to hear that the device will soon be getting an upgrade to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. Once the update has been released we will have root support for Android 6.0 on the HTC One M9 so feel free to come back here to root your device. Alternatively you can root your HTC One M9 today.

The HTC One M9 featured HTC’s iconic build quality and dual front facing speakers but it also comes packed with plenty of hardware power and some equally impressive software features. We think the HTC One M9 was one of the best Android smartphones to launch in 2015 and it still stands up as a great device today.

The first thing you’ll notice about the HTC One M9 is that it is ever so slightly smaller than most of the other Android flagships launched in 2015. Unlike the giant LG G4 with it’s 5.5 inch display and the Samsung Galaxy S6 with it’s 5.1 inch panel, the HTC One M9 doesn’t go over the 5 inch mark. Bigger doesn’t always mean better though – the 5 inch display on the HTC One M9 still look beautiful and with a 1080P resolution you know you’ll always be getting a good experience no matter what you’re using the device for.

The HTC One M9 also has a powerful 20 megapixel primary camera that can provide some decent image results and the device also has a 4 megapixel front facing camera. On the inside the HTC One M9 is powered by a Snapdragon 810, (with an octa core processor and Adreno 430 GPU) 3GB of RAM and a 2,840mAh battery. The One M9 has 32GB of internal storage and there is support for an additional 200GB via the microSD card slot.

The HTC One M9 is currently only on Android Lollipop but as we’ve previously mentioned the device will be getting an upgrade to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 soon. Beyond that, the HTC One M9 is using the Sense 7.0 UI which has a number of slimmed down features. Whilst it still looks and feels like HTC Sense, the 7.0 version has been streamlined to make navigation a lot simpler.
