The LG G2 D800 is the LG flagship smartphone that launched in 2013. LG was slowly becoming one of the most noticed smartphone manufacturers in the Android market, and the LG G2 was the smartphone that kickstarted LG’s newly found success. With some great hardware, plenty of useful software features and a very decent display, at the time the LG G2 featured some of the best of everything. The LG G2’s camera was also very decent for a 2013 release and having removable battery and microSD card support made it a top choice for lots of smartphone owners around the world.

Of course nowadays the LG G2 has hardware that doesn’t quite compare to a modern flagship. The LG G2 uses a Snapdragon 400 which is powered by a quad core 2.2GHz processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. The LG G2 has 2GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. All of this hardware is more than enough to run Android smoothly, even today, but it does suffer when playing high end games or when running numerous demanding apps. The LG G2 camera is also still considered a decent smartphone camera today.

The LG G2 can currently be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Android 5.0 came with plenty of great optimization features and a number of interface changes that unified the appearance of stock Android apps across the board. LG does also have it’s own overlay for the LG G2 but it wasn’t considered a very good selling point at the time and today it certainly is lacking in functionality and appearance.

We’d consider the weakest point of the LG G2 to be the software. Fortunately there is a lot you can do to mix things up. Firstly there are plenty of Android launcher apps that completely mix up how the operating system appears. If launcher apps aren’t enough, you can also install custom ROMs that completely change everything about the operating system. Not only do custom ROMs change the appearance of your operating system, from the launcher to every single settings menu, but custom ROMs also have plenty of their own functionality and utility features.

To install a custom ROM you must first root your LG G2. Rooting your device can be a bit of a scary process but we have made it as safe and straightforward as possible. Our One Click Root software can be used to root your LG G2 and within a few steps your device will be rooted without any complications. If you need to root your LG G2 and you’re worried about any mistakes that may be made by the manual rooting process then we suggest using our One Click Root software. Follow the four steps listed above and you’ll have your LG G2 rooted in no time.
