The Nexus range has always been a treat for Android fans and the Motorola Nexus 6 definitely did enough to impress crowds across the world when it was announced in 2014. When the Nexus 6 was later launched in November of that year, the pricing of the smartphone was revealed and interest for the smartphone died down. The Nexus 6 is a great smartphone and it’s price is still competitive, but many previous Nexus owners were expecting a super low price just like there was for the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5.
Despite the price increase, the Motorola Nexus 6 is still a very capable smartphone and it can be easily paired up against any other Android flagship smartphone launched in 2014. The Nexus 6 had a display that was on the larger side of popular display sizes in 2014. At 5.96 inches, the Nexus 6 display was just under a foot in size and it had a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The Nexus 6 also launched with a 13 megapixel camera which had OIS and dual LED flash. On the inside, the specifications of the Nexus 6 were just as impressive, if not more so. Firstly, the Nexus 6 had a large 3,220mAh battery which was perfect for powering the large high resolution display. Other specs on the interior of the Motorola Nexus 6 include a Snapdragon 805 SoC, 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Like previous Nexus smartphone releases, the Nexus 6 by Motorola did not have a microSD card slot manufactured for it. The Snapdragon 805 was one of the best processors in 2014 and it performed well thanks to it’s quad core 2.7GHz Krait 450 processor and it’s Adreno 420 GPU.
When it came to software the Nexus 6 by Motorola had stock Android. At launch the Nexus 6 had Android 5.0 Lollipop but an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is already available.
