The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo launched in early 2014, a few months after the initial launch of the Note 3. The Neo had a lower price tag at a sacrifice to some hardware specifications. Whilst the Snapdragon 800 chipset was downgraded to the Exynos 5433 SoC and the 3GB of RAM was replaced with just 2GB, performance on the Neo is still decent enough for most situations. However, when running multiple apps and making use of Samsung’s TouchWiz and Note software features, the operating system does start to struggle a little. The battery capacity on the Note 3 Neo has also been slightly downgraded to 3,100mAh but the battery will still last you more than a day’s worth of standard usage.

One of the biggest blows to specs on the Note 3 Neo is the downgrade to a smaller 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Downgrading specs is one of the easiest way to bring costs down so a display downgrade is almost guaranteed for a lower priced device. With that being said, it’s a shame the Note 3 Neo can’t quite deliver that epic display experience smartphone users have come to love from the Note range. The Note 3 Neo does have an S Pen Stylus and it can make use of all of the S Pen Suite applications but like mentioned before, some apps will have slight hiccups in performance if run in conjunction with too many other applications.
