Launched in 2015, the Samsung Galaxy S6 was Samsung’s latest flagship device for the year. The Samsung Galaxy S6 also launched alongside the S6 Edge, a brand new device to make it into Samsung’s ranks. 2015 was a big year for Samsung as not only did the S6 Edge have a very unique design but the physical build of the standard S6 also had been completely reworked in comparison to the previously launched Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S6 is built from glass and metal and almost the entirety of the exterior chassis is made from just these two materials. It’s not just the build design that got an overhaul though. The software also had some improvements and the interior hardware has had a boost.

Whilst the highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is certainly the elegant build design, the device has a lot of other features up it’s sleeve. When it comes to internal hardware, the Galaxy S6 features some of the best specs for any 2015 device. On the outside the Galaxy S6 has a 5.1 inch 1440 x 2560 resolution display. The primary camera on the S6 has a 16 megapixel sensor and can record 2K video footage. The front facing camera has a 5 megapixel sensor which is a considerable improvement from the Galaxy S5. On the inside the Galaxy S6 is powered by the Exynos 7420 Octa core chipset. As the name suggests, the Exynos 7420 comes with an octa core processor. Alongside the eight CPU cores is a Mali-T760MP8 GPU. The Galaxy S6 is also packed with 3GB of RAM which is a great amount for multitasking and running multiple apps simultaneously. The Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with a variety of storage options including 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Unfortunately this device does not have a microSD card slot and for the first time the Galaxy S6 flagship cannot have it’s battery removed. The battery in the S6 has a capacity of 2,550mAh which is actually slightly smaller than it’s predecessors 2,800mAh battery. We think the battery is the only major weak point though.
